About Paws for a Cause

Paws for a Cause began with Lucy, our sweet French Bulldog. When Lucy was diagnosed with cancer, I was faced with the overwhelming challenge of covering the cost of her surgery and treatment. To rally support, I started Treats for Treatment — a fundraiser where every donation brought us closer to giving Lucy the care she needs.

I realized Lucy’s story isn’t unique — so many families are forced to make impossible choices for their pets, and they deserve help as well.

Our mission and goal are to continue supporting other pets in need with a dedicated campaign, raising funds and awareness to give them a fighting chance they might not otherwise be able to afford.

By standing together, we can turn compassion into action and hope into healing — for Lucy and for every paw that follows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Paws for a Cause?

Paws for a Cause helps pets heal through fundraisers that support animals needing medical care.

How can I help?
Is my donation tax-deductible?
How do you choose the pets you feature?
Where do the funds go?

At this time, donations to Paws for a Cause are not tax-deductible because we are not yet a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. What we can promise is that 100% of your gift goes directly toward veterinary care for the pets we spotlight.

Your donations go straight to paying for the medical care of the pet we’re spotlighting that month. If we’re lucky enough to raise more than they need, the extra goes toward helping the next pet and family waiting for support.

There are lots of ways to help! You can donate, bake and share treats for our fundraisers, put up fliers in your favorite local spots, or spread the word on social media. Every little bit of support brings us closer to helping pets get the care they need.

Families are invited to submit their pet’s story, and each month we carefully choose one to spotlight. Our goal is to be fair and thoughtful, giving every pet a chance to be seen and supported while sharing their journey with the community.

Why is the fundraiser handle called Treats for Treatment?

The name Treats for Treatment comes from our first fundraiser, where baked goods helped raise money for Lucy’s care — turning simple treats into life-saving treatment. As Paws for a Cause grows, we’ll add more fundraisers, like a stroller rental program for dogs with mobility challenges, all under the same umbrella.
